The popular city-sized SUV Mitsubishi ASX line-up has been restyled with a fresh new look and improved interior. This latest model boasts a reshaped front with softer lines, re-designed grille and an updated rear bumper. The result is an attractive SUV of just the right size that can carry up to 5 people yet has a reasonable boot capacity. The top model Aspire has excellent leather seats and big alloy wheels. It combines just the right looks and overall performance to make it a very attractive car in this competitive market.

Additionally, this refreshed ASX range now comes in a new variant, the ASX 4WD turbo diesel automatic. The ASX 2WD and ASX 2WD Aspire are powered by the 2.0-litre engine that drives the front wheels through a choice of either five-speed manual gearbox or Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) and provides maximum outputs of 110kW of power and 197Nm of torque. The 2WD ASX returns competitive fuel consumption figures of 7.9-litres per 100 kilometres in the CVT and 7.7 litres per 100 kilometres in the manual transmission.

(The ASX’s CVT provides a smoother, improved drive experience. Achieved through an adjusted relationship between throttle pedal opening and torque output, the new generation CVT delivers improved engine performance and acceleration.)

The new 4WD diesel automatic sports Mitsubishi’s 2.2L four-cylinder turbo-charged intercooled diesel engine, mated to a six-speed transmission with Sport Mode. It delivers power of 110kW @ 3,500 rpm, 360Nm of torque @ 1,500 – 2,750rpm and returns a prudent 5.8l/100km combined fuel economy.

Already highly specified from a safety viewpoint with a five-star ANCAP rating, the ASX range utilises Mitsubishi’s acclaimed RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) structure, ASTC (Active Stability Control with Traction Control), Hill Start Control system, ABS, Electronic Brake Distribution, Brake Assist, and seven airbags, including driver and passenger front, side and curtain, and driver knee airbag as standard.

To complement the ASX’s refreshed exterior look, numerous interior and functionality upgrades have been made across the range including increased towing capacities of 1,300kg on petrol models and 1,400kg on diesel models.
