With the world’s largest mall, largest firework display and only seven-star hotel in the world, Dubai isn’t exactly modest about its wealth. So, it should surprise no one that Dubai’s Police Force is just as exorbitant. Dubai’s Police are now the proud owners of 12 twelve luxury supercars. All have been painted in police force colours, and all can exceed 300km/h. These top-line vehicles were purchased in order to combat speeding. They have certainly helped police make peaceful arrests, with those charged begging police to be taken for a ride back to the station:

Costing over $300 000, the newest edition to the Police Force fleet is one of a kind. In fact, it’s the only model of McLaren manufactured since the F1 stopped production in 1998. Awarded “Car of the Year” at the Middle Eastern Motor Awards, this supercar features a twin turbo charged 3.8 litre engine, and can go from 0km/h to 100km/h in a startling 3.1 seconds. Most importantly, it has even been custom fitted with pop up police lights that can quickly be activated should a car chase arise.

Only 77 of these iconic Aston Martins exist and one of them is in the custody of the Dubai Police Force. Known as one of the world’s fastest production vehicles, the One can go over 350km/h, which yes, is faster than the speed of most planes lifting off the ground. Rumour has it, the Dubai Police paid 1.4 million for the limited edition ride, which considering its v-12, 750 horsepower engine, is actually a pretty good deal.

Lamorghini Aventador

The first car in the Dubai Police Force garage, the Lamborghini Aventador is the ultimate showman. Named after the bull fighting in the bull rings of Saragossa, this two seater sports car takes its streamlined shape from two limited edition Lamborghinis that have come before it. With a top speed of 355km/h recorded on the streets of Dubai itself, this Lambo can also reach 100km in 2.9 seconds, and if you’re looking to buy a car with some serious kick, it has a $400 000 price tag.

Dubai Police have stated these supercars were purchased to promote the image of the local Dubai police force. That said, in a country known for having one of the largest collection of supercars per population in the world, speeders have no where to run on Dubai’s free ways.
