There are so many high-quality cars to choose from, no one should have to settle for a mediocre vehicle. That’s why there’s really no excuse that some of the awful choices on the market still exist.

Here is a list of a few cars that should be demolished as soon as possible.

The Smart ForTwo – Impractical and Dangerous

As the cost of gas keeps going up, cars have been getting smaller and smaller to try and increase fuel efficiency. The Smart ForTwo takes this concept to an extreme. At a tiny length of 2.69 metres, the Smart ForTwo is more a shoe box than a car. It can fit a maximum of two passengers and they better not be tall. There’s no room for cargo and this tiny model doesn’t offer any protection in an accident. While it offers decent 4.4L/100km fuel efficiency, its engine has no power and this car can’t handle highway driving. At nearly $20,000, this car is too expensive for what if offers. Aussies looking for fuel efficiency should look elsewhere.

The Dodge Nitro – An Unimpressive Muscle Car with Awful Fuel Efficiency

For Australians looking for a high performance, sport vehicle, the Dodge Nitro isn’t the answer. While the 6 cylinder, 3.7 L engine in this car offers decent power, it’s so loud it can be heard across town. A few drivers might see this as a positive but most find the noise to be a big nuisance. The Nitro’s fuel efficiency is a mediocre 12.4L/100km that will have owners spending more time at the pump than on the road. This SUVs’ boxy look also comes across as boring and doesn’t make the Nitro seem appealing at all.

The Nissan Cube – Is This Design a Joke?

The Nissan Cube is one of the ugliest cars on the market today. It really just looks like a metal box. While this likely helps with storage, it definitely makes the car stand out and not in a good way. Now, the specs of the Cube aren’t horrible. It can seat five people, has a 4 cylinder 1.5L engine, and sells for at over $10,000. These features though can’t make up for the horrible impression you’ll leave on others though when you drive up in the Cube.

The Cadillac Escalade – A Premium Price, not a Premium Car

The Cadillac Escalade isn’t a horrible car, but it doesn’t come anywhere close to justifying its cost. To buy an Escalade, it’s going to cost more than $100,000 and likely significantly more if you’re looking to add in any features. Reviewers have found that this SUV handles poorly and the braking isn’t responsive. You just don’t get a luxury ride with this car. Gas mileage is also quite poor considering the size of the vehicle. While the Escalade has an impressive, stylish look, it just doesn’t offer the performance to back up its staggering cost.

There are plenty of great cars to choose from. Don’t settle for one of these lemons. Leave these models alone and just wait until they all make it to the scrap heap.
