Most finance providers will not consider providing personal loans or secured car loans to individuals who have been bankrupt. Bankruptcy and part 9 lending criteria
- Must be discharged from bankruptcy for a minimum of 12 months
- Defaults following bankruptcy (ie not part of the bankruptcy) means an automatic decline except where the bankruptcy is no longer on the client's credit file
- Multiple bankrupts can also cause decline in some circumstances
- Cant help if defaults following Part IX unless it can be proven that default was part of the Part IX transaction or Part IX has dropped off credit file
Bankruptcy vehicle types
- Commercial Vehicles - maximum of 6 years old (some exceptions). Maximum 7.5 tonne
- Standard Vehicles - up to 9 years old
- Vehicles must book within Glass's guide values
